SOAP - Matthew 6

Scripture: Matthew 6:5-6
"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him."

Observation:
God normally doesn't move in flashy showy miracles. He works in behind the scenes, putting things in place so that our needs, as he sees them, are met. He knows better than me what my needs are, and how best to meet them.

Application:
Trust God, even when it appears that nothing is going on, for He is working in the background. Thank God for the blessings as they come knowing that He laid the foundation so that they could happen.

Prayer:
Thank you Lord that you are working in the background so that my needs can be met, and thank you that you know what those needs are intimately. Help me to pray simply, and honestly, bringing my cares, worries and needs to you. Trusting that you have them all taken care of.
